Overview

The Alcohol and Drug counselor certificate provides students with 270 hours of specific alcohol and drug counseling coursework as well as documentation of 880 hours of practical alcohol and drug counseling experience. 440 hours related to inpatient settings and 440 hours related to outpatient settings.

**Note:  When applying for the Alcohol and Drug Counselor Program at Minnesota West, in your application to the college, please choose the Collegewide Campus and the your major should be the Alcohol and Drug Counselor certificate.

Admission Requirement:  Must be completing or have a completed two-year degree.
