Academic Programs
Overview
In this two semester program students gain technical knowledge and hands-on welding skills for Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc and Gas Tungsten Arc, Pipe Welding, Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting processes. Students will learn to recognize welding symbols, read and interpret welding blueprints, and practice shop safety. Welds will be made to industry standards using the American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Code. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared for a high demand welding career in advanced manufacturing, production, maintenance and repair, and construction.
