CJS 1100 Criminal Justice Practicum

Description

Criminal Justice Practicum allows students in the law enforcement program to be involved in the day-to-day operations of a criminal justice agency. Expose the students to the work that is required to be performed in that agency. These internship/field experiences will provide the students an opportunity for practical application of learned academic content in real world settings to help develop long-term academic and career plans.

Learning Outcomes

1. Identify and explain the mission statement and policies of the agency and what the agency is doing to address their mission statements.

2. Identify and explain the major goals and objectives of the agency and analyze how the agency fits into the overall criminal justice system.

3. Examine current issues in diversity, ethics and social justice that exist in the criminal justice system and identify areas of improvement that can be made in these areas.

4. Demonstrate correct and appropriate oral and written communication skills.
