COSM 1181 License Preparation for Cosmetology I

Description

License Preparation for Cosmetology I prepares the student for the Minnesota State Board written and practical examinations, as well as licensure in alternate states. Students will review Minnesota Statutes and Rules in preparation for the required skills readiness tests and salon experience. This course will provide students with an opportunity to develop the practical skills necessary for entry-level salon work, concentrating on safety procedures and sanitation. This course prepares students for licensure and entry level salon employment. This course will contribute 48 hours toward licensure. The State of Minnesota mandates the hours to go toward the hour requirements.

2. Identify blood borne pathogens and justify the means of protecting against exposure

3. Relate the importance of universal precautions to safety and sanitation measures

6. Develop and refine a cover letter, resume, and employment portfolio
