DEN 1185 Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Administration

Description

Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Administration provides the student with skills and knowledge needed for safe and effective administration of nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia and the management of associated complications. The course will provide didactic and supervised clinical experiences as required by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. During the clinical portion of the course, students will administer and undergo nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation as a patient.

Prerequisite

Student must be certified in CPR before taking this course and enrolled in the Dental Assistant Program or permission from instructor.

6. Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen sedation administration techniques

7. Signs and symptoms of Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen sedation and over sedation

8. Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen sedation advantages and disadvantages

9. Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen sedation indications and contraindications

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen sedation equipment.
