Professional Integration reinforces key curriculum components for the medical assistant student entering practicum. The class provides orientation to the practicum experience and preparation for the medical assistant certification exam.

1. Professionalism, self-awareness & personal wellness, teamwork, customer relations, and community resources.

2. Orientation to the practicum experience and preparation for the medical assistant certification exam.

Learning Outcomes

1. Organize knowledge and skills mastered in medical assistant courses and prepare to integrate them into practice.

2. Demonstrate self-awareness, including measures necessary for self-care.

3. Examine the importance of teamwork and customer service in the healthcare setting.

4. Identify and explore community resources available to clients.

5. Utilize the resources on the AAMA website to find important professional information for the medical assistant.

6. Articulate the expectations and requirements of the medical assistant practicum experience.

7. Prepare to take the national certification exam using resources provided.
