1. Essential history, philosophies, and theories of management in recreation, and sports.

2. Learn the management policies and procedures used in recreational, fitness, and sports settings.

3. The basic business aspects of running sports as a profitable organization.

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe the terminology and definitions in sports business.

2. Develop a management plan for a recreation or sports business or program.

3. Describe the history and evolution of management in recreation and sports businesses.

4. Develop a basic personal and business philosophy used in running a sports business or program.

5. Describe and explain the differences of the four areas of a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis.

6. Describe and explain different leadership styles and in running a sports business.
